Danna received her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy in 2007 with
the goal of working with children through a family systems approach. Danna built
her clinical experience working with children with autism in various settings, providing in-home family therapy for children with emotional and behavior challenges, and doing outpatient therapy with children who have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect and attachment disruptions. In session, Danna incorporates a variety of treatment approaches including play therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Theraplay and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy.
She completed yoga teacher training through Alignment Yoga in 2016 and often
brings the power of yoga into treatment. Danna loves connecting with children
and families through play and building a better understanding of the interplay of temperament, relationships, emotions, and behaviors in order to support positive change. Finding creative ways to incorporate movement, mindfulness, and yoga into treatment is a challenge that keeps Danna inspired. Personal interests include roller coasters, waterslides, puppies, knitting and crocheting small creatures, and spending time with her family.
